UCPH is a public University under the Ministry of Science and Technology. UCPH performs research and teaching within food safety and technology, animal and plant health and production, natural resources and basic sciences connected to these areas. It hosts the Danish Centre for Advanced Food Studies (LMC), an internationally recognized research infrastructure within food science and technology. UCPH has 13 Departments and approximately 2500 employers. The participants in the project are from Department of Veterinary Pathobiology (DVP), which is linked to the Centre for Advanced Food Studies. The research area of this Department is microbial food safety and host pathogen interaction of veterinary and food safety relevant microorganisms. DVP has approximately 200 employees. The research group consists of more than 20 scientists working on different aspects of tracing of pathogenic microorganisms, stress adaptation in pathogenic bacteria, host pathogen interaction, food matrix models and virulence assessment models.
